Sale! Gloss DK Yarn

$5.59 - $6.99 50g / Ball  Original Price: $6.99

Gloss DK is a luxurious blend of soft Merino wool and lustrous silk. The fiber blend takes dye very well, resulting in glowing saturated colors. Gloss DK has a large spectrum of colors, which are ideal for combining in colorwork projects. It is next-to-skin soft, and good for wearing around your neck or on your wrists, since it’s not itchy. Its sheen and drape produce a very sleek fabric, which shows off the stockinette stitch. Try using Gloss DK to knit fitted pullovers, dressy cardigans, or stunning wraps. Retail: $6.99

"The Gloss DK yarn is very soft and not a bit itchy.  I love the colors that it comes in too!  I recently finished a scarf with it and it was beautiful!  Best of all?  The recipient loved it!" -Grace N., Knit Picks customer

"I have to say, I'm very impressed with this yarn.  It knit up quite nicely and now that it is blocked, it's even softer and squishier!  I'll definitely be using this yarn again!"  -Stephanie, Knit Picks customer

LOVE this yarn. Disappointed that fewer colors are available. I made two blankets for my granddaughters and now I have a grandson on the way but the colors I need are no longer available.

Loving the color, I ordered Kenai for a cardigan I am knitting. Yarn is so soft. My only complaints are it only comes in 50g skeins and that there were some unspun areas of the yarn that made the stitch work less neat, but I was able to hide it mostly on the wrong side. I needed 13 balls of 50g which makes for a lot of ends to weave, please make 100g skeins possible!

I'm knitting this in a very textured cable pattern, and the sheen of the yarn complements the pattern beautifully. The yarn is a pleasure to work with.

I rarely use yarn heavier than sport weight but I think Gloss DK has converted me! Incredibly lush and plump but sturdy - I was designing a project and must have unraveled my work 4 or 5 times, but the yarn sprang back into shape without frogging and scarcely pilled. I used Blackberry; a very rich, glowing purple. I let the project soak in warm water with mild wool wash but did not rub or agitate it in any way. The stitch definition is fabulous and the sheen is very sophisticated - subtle than Galileo but very much present. As soon as I have an excuse I'll buy MORE. More colors?

Lovely, buttery soft yarn with good drape and shine; Gloss is a good name for it. I made a long-sleeved pullover sweater in the DK weight with cable details and it shows good stitch definition. I was surprised and disappointed to find it extremely susceptible to felting with ANY agitation. Unfortunately, it also shrank. So, handle gently: NO agitation, NO heat.
