Simply Wool Bulky

$6.99 100g / Hank

You’d have to shear your own sheep to get any more natural, this 100% Eco wool yarn is good for you and Mother Earth. The product of centuries of shepherding tradition, the balanced twist and dense, plump hand gives this yarn fabulous definition for textured or cabled sweaters and accessories. No dyes or bleach are used to process the yarn; the eight natural shades are created by meticulously sorting the fiber as it comes off the sheep. As colors are naturally occurring, some variation from skein to skein is normal.

Loved this yarn for a Carbeth Cardigan for my daughter. It knit up bulky. If you think it is not bulky knit a swatch and wash it, you will be surprised.I am making the same sweater out of this yarn for me.

This is a no-nonsense pure wool yarn, and for that, it's excellent. Smooth, uniform, squishy, and the best stitch definition I've seen in 20 years of knitting. It doesn't seem like bulky weight in the skein, but knit it at bulky gauge - it plumps up as you work with it. No, it isn't the softest yarn, but it does soften with a good soak. I was looking for undyed "rustic" wool for a scarf request, and I'm glad I took a chance on this yarn - it's perfect.

I love the stitch definition of this yarn. It is very sturdy, I've frogged and reworked several swatches and it stands up very well. I think it will work great as a sweater over a long sleeve shirt.

This yarn doesn't feel like a bulky, more like aran weight, so I had to adjust my gauge for my project. It does have prickly fibers, but it is absolutely wearable next to skin on not-super-sensitive areas (though I have no problem with rustic wools, so maybe i'm biased) and feels like my sweater will last a long time and never pill! I also like the stitch definition, it looks great in cables.

Right up there next to Peruvian Wool, thank you very much..... Anyone that would want to put this wool up against there skin doesn't have nerve endings. What has happened to quality at KnitPicks? There prices are going up and there quality has left the building.
