Sale! City Tweed Aran/HW Yarn

$9.89 - $10.99 100g / Ball  Original Price: $10.99

This yarn begins with alpaca and Merino fibers dyed two different colors and then blended together to make a subtle rich, lustrous heather. We chose neutral color Donegal tweed neps to incorporate into the 2-ply yarn. Donegal is a series of viscose neps (think slubs or bits of lint) that are suspended in a very fine acrylic mesh which allows them to be spun alongside the longer alpaca and Merino fibers. In the yarn, you won’t be able to see the acrylic web at all, and the neps will appear either on the surface of the yarn or spun inside the yarn strand. The high ratio of neps gives City Tweed a traditional appeal. The use of Merino and alpaca makes it soft and warm.

"This yarn is wonderful!!!  While it looks rustic, hardy and rugged, it feels like a little bit of heaven.  It was a pleasure to knit with and I will definitely be ordering more." -Fran, Knit Picks customer

I love this yarn. I bought it in Orca to knit the Danny boy cardigan for my husband. It hasa wonderful soft, warm, plush cosy feel to it. It is wonderful in my hands , i enjoy working with it, but the finished lok is great, perfectle with the little nubs in it to give that tweed appearance and texture. Love it, very reasonable price for the high quality of this yarn.

This is my favorite Knitpicks yarn. It's one of the few yarns that's actually the weight it says it is. It's wonderful for hats because it's so warm and soft. It's easy to work with and it has great stitch definition. I just wish it came in as many colors as the DK version.

First time using this yarn, and I love it! Nice colors and perfect mix of tweed. Soft with a beautiful drape. Warm, but not heavy or scratchy to wear. Made a vest for my husband- he wears it all the time! Will definitely order more.

I knitted this yarn up in a shawl collared cardigan with pockets and cuffed sleeves for my daughter who is an assistant professor. We entered it in the Utah State Fair super senior division and the sweater won first place. A very nice yarn, I am now knitting a sweater in the DK weight.

Wonderful yarn to knit and great stitch definition. I ordered some additional yarn, which I have been looking forward to receiving, but it's taken nearly 2 weeks to arrive. I have suggested another shipping affiliate to Knitpicks, this method of delivery is not acceptable after paying nearly $6 in shipping fees. But, if you're not in a hurry, great yarn.
