Andean Treasure DK
Debuting in 2005, Andean Treasure was one of Knit Picks’ first exclusive luxury yarns, and the decades of gorgeous projects created with it make it easy to see why it continues to be so beloved!
Timeless heathered colors add depth and complexity to one of Peru’s finest fibers to create a yarn that is as much a treat to craft with as it is to wear. Made of Peruvian baby alpaca, Andean Treasure both looks and feels luxurious with beautiful drape and hand feel. When producing alpaca yarns, alpaca fibers are sorted by their diameter (micron count), and the finest fibers are the softest. Baby alpaca is one of the softest and finest classifications of alpaca, and it's also a delightfully warm, and cozy fiber, holding in heat better than sheep’s wool. Andean Treasure is a decadent choice for next-to-skin winter accessories like scarves, cowls, hats, and headbands, and it looks particularly nice in lacy stitch patterns. For some quiet luxury, try Andean Treasure for felting projects, like felted slippers.

Cascadia is a multi-dimensional denim blue with a slight indigo undertone. A classic dark blue that is both distinguished and down-to-earth.
At first glance, this color may appear charcoal in color, when actually Meridian Heather is more of a deep, dark blue color with a dark grey component. This rich color is a classic that can add subtle depth to darker palettes or set off brighter, lighter hues wonderfully.
Aegean Sea is a rich teal blue color that makes us dream of the lush deep colors of the sea.
A lush semi-tropical shade of green, Sprout boasts a vivacious melange of both olive and grass green, with a golden yellow undertone.
Like a walk in the forest, Verdant Heather combines moss, olive, and kelly green with golden brown and bits of turquoise for a striking and unique color.
Goldenrod Heather is the color of golden wheat. This shade will remind you of a bouquet of marigolds, mostly golden yellow with tinges of pumpkin orange.
Embers is a bold brick red color. The bright and dark shades of the heathered strands are similar to the color of cherries swirled with chocolate.
Blossom Heather is a delicate heathered pink color. It features light to medium shades of a soft baby pink color palette. Not only does it remind us of beautiful pink spring flowers, but a little like cotton candy too.
Royal is a luxurious blue violet color. A heathered yarn that incorporates light, medium and dark shades of blues, soft violets and a touch of pink gives the overall color a medium royal purple look. The variation of color will give your next project added depth and texture.
A soft taupe color, Coriander Heather has cream highlights on a warm light brown base.
Lynx Heather is a medium brown that is set against heathered flecks of toasty warm browns with red undertones and lighter beige. The addition of subtle heathered flecks of silver gives Lynx Heather a luminescent quality to its color. A wonderful color on its own, you'll love Lynx Heather for creating subtle gradients and transitions of browns and neutrals.
A creamy medium brown, Pinecone Heather is a rich & versatile neutral color that looks great with other earthy shades and vibrant pop colors.
Prairie Heather is a light, dusty, gray-toned brown. Whether it reminds you of tumbleweeds or prairie dogs, it's a neutral that will remind you of the great outdoors.
Fog is a soft neutral grey color. Like the fog settling in on an early morning, it offers depth and interest in the variety of light and dark values that are mixed throughout the strand. A beautiful neutral to keep on hand.
Mystery is a beautiful heathered charcoal grey color. The light neutral grey shade that is mixed in with the deep grey values adds softness to this dark and mysterious color. It could even be used in place of black as a soft black.
