Whitecaps takes its inspiration from ocean waves and the meandering stitches found in traditional Estonian lace. Embellished with optional beads or nupps, the graceful shapes of this lace pattern produce a modern, almost abstract interpretation of flowing water.

This generously-sized shawl is worked from end to end, without the need for grafting or a provisional cast on. All of the lace patterning is worked on the right side of the project, and the placement of the beads or nupps is charted.
