Fog Bank Hat and Mittens

Fog Bank is a simply shaped, super chunky hat and mittens set, embellished by gradient-style color changes. The colors are worked in simple stripes, but a clever use of slipped stitches creates a fun zagging transition without the trouble of stranding.

Both hat and mittens are worked in the round from the bottom up. The mittens have a ribbed cuff and the thumb is worked after finishing the thumb gusset and before moving on to complete the rest of the hand. The hat features a Garter Stitch brim. The super bulky yarn, easy color work, and simple shaping make for a speedy knit that's cozy and fun.

Finished Measurements:
Hat: 16 (17.75, 19.5, 21.25)" circumference x 6.75 (7, 7.25, 8.25)" height (not including pompom).
Choose a finished size about 2-3" smaller than head.
Mittens: 4.5 (6, 7.5, 9)" hand circumference x 4 (5.75, 7.5, 8.5)" hand length, plus 2 (2.5, 3, 3.5)" cuff.
