First Sweater
  0 customer reviews

This cozy kid's cardigan is a great introduction to sweater knitting. You’ll develop your pattern reading and finishing skills while building confidence to tackle bigger projects. It is a comfortable sweater for kids with great sizing options, fun details, and classic shaping that never goes out of style. The First Sweater you make will be the first of many as you'll return to this pattern, over and over.

The cardigan is worked in pieces from the bottom up, with seams and a three-needle bind off at the shoulders. It has a modified drop shoulder construction with shallow sleeve caps. There’s a decorative ridge of Garter Stitch worked in a contrasting color defining the ribbing at the hem, cuffs, front bands, and neckband.

Some colors used in the sample are no longer available. We have made substitution suggestions in the Kit Builder below.
