Fayston Cardigan is a bottom-up cardigan worked in pieces with the back 2” longer than the fronts. The front of the cardigan is worked in stockinette stitch with a 1x1 rib edging. The lower back begins with a fun lace pattern in a lighter weight yarn. The lace portion ends with a slight curve created using short-rows, and then transitions to a stockinette stitch section worked in the heavier weight yarn. The pieces are joined and stitches are picked up to work set-in sleeves, which are worked in the round using short-rows to shape the sleeve cap. The 1x1 ribbing from the front continues up to the back to create a knitted-on collar for a clean, finished look.
