Options Caspian Wood Cable Knitting Needles

$4.49

The smooth and lustrous surface of our Caspian wood needles allows your stitches to move freely for hours of comfortable knitting. Made from laminated birch wood in waves of color, the sharp, gradually tapered points slip easily into stitches so even complicated cables and decreases are easy to maneuver. The Caspian wood warms quickly in your hands, and the burnished surface provides just the right amount of grip to manage slippery yarns. The grooves in each needle help keep the stitches from slipping off the needle while they are being held either in front or in back of your work. Set of three provides an ideal size for any project.
Set includes:
US size 3 (3 1/8" long)
US size 6 (3 3/8" long)
US size 9 (4" long)
Small, Medium, Large Item No. 91139

I love these cable needles! They hold the stitches well until you're ready to knit them. I've tried all kinds and these are the best!

the yarn is very difficult to move from one side of the needle to the other because of the rough grooves. Design needs to be improved.

Like the wood, like the length, hate the ridges.

I do a lot of cable work so I am always looking for good cable needles so I recently tried the ones with the grooves in them. How annoying. Yes the stitches stayed on the need alright but getting them off quickly was just not possible. I had to get the stitiches right back on the point in order to knit across without stopping. Not a good deal for me I am sorry to say. Went back to my short straight metal ones.7FC534

I have to agree with another lady here; I thought these cable needles would be perfect - three sizes and just the right length - however, the grooves really slow things down. They snag on the yarn and are frustratingly slow to push through. Perhaps softer indents or no indents at all would be a better option. Being made of wood, they are light and not really prone to falling out of your work like the metal ones do. I would really like to see just plain wooden cable needles on the site and would be the first to step up and buy a set.
