Sale! Snuggle Puff

$5.39 - $5.99 50g / Ball  Original Price: $5.99

Snuggle up with downy drifts of cotton! Snuggle Puff is a heavy worsted or Aran weight cotton yarn made possible by new innovations in yarn construction, allowing fiber from our favorite plant to be blown into a nylon mesh. Without the rigid structure of spinning and plying, the resulting yarn is amazingly lightweight and lofty, keeping more of Pima Cotton's superlative drape and huggable softness than traditional yarn construction. With the added benefit of natural machine washable convenience, Snuggle Puff is perfect for wool-free accessories and more for babies, children, anyone with extra sensitive skin, and cotton fans of all kinds.

Knit Picks is on to something with this new yarn, ohhh so very soft yet strong. I've been swatching, and it's nice fabric in several needle sizes at various densities, loose and lacy to firm and sturdy. I get smooth results in stockinette stitch, but my knit/purl row unevenness is visible, like most cotton. I'll carry the blocked swatches around for durability testing to see if the pilling/fuzziness becomes a personal problem. I recommend trying this yarn, the more we buy, the more colors they'll make, right?

This is exceptionally soft yarn, I got the Hatchling color and it's very pretty, the photo is very close to the actual yarn color. I think it is a true worsted weight, but I'm also a tight knitter and this is also my first time knitting with (mostly) cotton. My issue with this yarn is with how much it sheds. If it we're just a matter of lint-rolling myself, I wouldn't care, but I'm definitely going to have to shave the baby sweater I'm making before I give it to the mother-to-be. I just hope it gets all the extra fluff off before it gets washed for the first time.

Such a new feeling! This yarn reminds me of a comfy chenille robe, super soft and cuddly. It feels like crocheting with roving but the yarn is strong and doesn’t pull apart. I needed a scissors to cut the end when I changed colors. I did find that the hatchling color seems just a bit thicker than the other colors, but not enough to distort the crochet baby afghan pattern I am making. The colors are soft and luscious, but the polliwog is just a bit bright against the other muted soft colors.

So soft and cuddly! I'm going to make a shawl for my mom in this yarn. I just wish there were more colors than the typical baby blanket pastel colors.
