Shadow Lace Yarn

$5.99 50g / hank

The spongy, ultra-soft Merino wool provides a light touch of warmth, and the deeply heathered colors result in delicate lace that seems like passing shadows. Heathered colors ensure wardrobe versatility since they compliment so many different shades. You'll find that a shawl, wrap or scarf knit in Shadow can be your go-anywhere chill chaser as well as fashionable accent. If you prefer more substantial lace, this yarn looks lovely knit double stranded.

Also available as natural undyed yarn so you can create your own colorways.

I love the quality of Shadow, and treasure the items I’ve made from it. I wish Shadow Redwood was available again- a beautiful heather, deep brown with red highlights.

This is one of the squishiest 100% wool yarns I have ever used. It is just a tad thicker than some other KP lace yarns such as Alpaca Cloud Lace, but thinner than a fingering weight like Stroll. I have used colors Midnight and Oregon Coast and both are lovely. The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is that it seems very susceptible to moths; I have a stole in my stash made with this yarn that is unfinished because moths began chewing on it while it was in progress. I store the project with a cedar block now (I can't get myself to throw it away) which has solved the problem, but it was a painful mistake because the finished product would have been so pretty!

This is the softest wool! I have never used this before. I am knitting the Reed Heather in a lace scarf. The color is gorgeous. It looks as soft as it is. I haven't finished it, blocked it, etc., but I can tell I am going to love it. I'm so glad I got it on sale because after reading other reviews I took and chance and bought three different colors, four skeins each. Not one bit sorry!!!

I have been a customer for over a year now and I have never been disappointed, but today I am extra happy with my order. I requested matching dye lots on some opal heather I ordered the first of 1 month ago and knit picks was able to get it for me. So now my shawl turned sweater project will not be a bust. Thank you knit picks.

Love this yarn. I’ve recently made a sweater from this - Oregon heather, held together with Aloft in Oat colourway. Made it on a knitting machine, a simple dolman in stockinette with rolled neck and 3/4 sleeves. It’s utterly beautiful, light as air and so warm! By itself, Oregon heather is a bit dirty, but when mixed with the light champagne beige of aloft, it works perfectly. I think mixing two oat colorways would work great too, especially with matching beads. This yarn is soft, strong and really easy to work with. Love the heathered colorways.
