Sale! Muse Hand Painted Tonal

$10.49 - $14.99 100g / Hank  Original Price: $14.99

Be prepared to be inspired by the masterful craftmanship of Muse. This superwash worsted weight Merino wool yarn is the first ever Knit Picks exclusive yarn crafted in Japan. The wonderfully soft and touchable merino is firmly twisted in a single strand, stable enough to discourage splitting and pilling while still enjoying the finish and drape of single-ply construction, with special care taken to ensure even thickness. At approx. 8 wraps per inch, the yard to weight ratio can be deceiving, with extra weight from the dense twist knitting into a satisfying and substantial fabric. With machine washable convenience, you’ll enjoy easy care hats, cowls and accessories with next-to-skin softness, or sweaters and garments bursting with color.

Muse Hand Painted Tonals feature meticulous dyeing by Japanese artisans, blending and applying colors by hand to achieve a range of tones in the same color. Functioning almost as solids, these colorways will complement textural stitches and cables, with subtle variations that emphasize stitches and bring extra depth of color.

This yarn is a surprise love for me. In fact I adore it! I wasn’t going to buy it since I don’t really use single ply yarns because of all their issues and limitations but this yarn doesn’t have them! I’ve made a cabled hat and lacy cowl and the yarn held up very well. I had no tearing of the yarn, it is indeed tightly twisted, doesn’t feel delicate at all. It’s also very soft and also not irritating around the neck like some merino can be despite being known for softness. Highly recommend!
