I took a gamble and ordered 4 hanks of this yarn at once; one each in colors Justice, Courage, Charity, and Hope. From the minute I opened the box I was floored - the shine and the vibrancy are unbelievable and the hand is cool, drapey, and smooth. Hope was slightly darker than shown on my monitor and Courage was just a tad lighter, but otherwise the colors were as pictured on my monitor. About 40g of Hope was enough to make Evelyn Clark's Swallowtail Shawl. Here are some pointers based on my experience, which I hope will encourage more people to buy and use this yarn! • Winding: I wound the hank I used by hand and would definitely recommend hand winding as opposed to using a ball winder; the yarn has an ever-so-tiny halo that makes the individual strands cling together, potentially causing tangles. Just work slowly, address potential knots as soon as possible, and don't pull from the hank too fast and you'll be fine. • Knitting: This yarn is gently plied with a low twist (making it springy, velvety, and smooth; like eclair filling but in yarn form) which makes it easy to split, and the softness is easy to snag. Don't knit too tightly and make sure your nails and fingertips are smooth. Also, slick needles will make the job harder; I used Sunstrucks in size 4 and had no problems, even with 5-stitch nupps. Due to the springiness of the fiber, the project may look disappointingly crinkled on the needles. Just hang in there until you've blocked it. • Blocking: Silk becomes weaker when wet, relative to its incredible tensile strength when dry, so spray blocking is the safest route to avoid over-stretching and 'killing' the fiber. The sheen disappears when wet but should come back when the piece is dry. Hope that helps!

The colour of this yarn is spectacular and the finished product is truly unique. Unfortunately, being silk, it needs to come with a warning to not use a ball winder with it. Used swift and ball winder and it ended up all tangled up in side due to threads attaching to each other and then shredding if pulled. Hand ball winding only and it worked fine. An expensive lesson - but the finished product is stunning.

So disappointed by the color (patience) different from the picture but the texture seems To be Nice and it's shiny.......but the color..... can't believe I chose that !!!!!!!

This yarn is incredibly soft, slinky and light weight. I’m using three shades for the “Color Affection” shawl (on Ravelry) and I love how it looks. However, be aware that the color rubs off—it’s ruined my nail polish and because it’s on my hands, now my cell phone case is stained as well. The dye will transfer to any thing you touch. I am hoping that the excess dye will wash out when I block it. If not, I won’t be buying this yarn again.

Yarn is so soft! A pleasure to work with, shows great stitch definition. Blocks well. Colour is richer than shows in picture. A
