The yarn was thick and thin as others have noted. The biggest issue for me was the bleeding. I bought the solid gray, and it bled heavily green! Luckily I noticed before it hit the white sections of my sweater.

First, I bought 2 balls of Dear Diary. The two are not even close, even though they show the same lot number. One is shades of gray to light lavender, and the other is shades of a different gray to shades of light to bright fushcia. Also the balls are so tangled from the inside it is very difficult to find the end, then continues to clump into a mess as you go. It splits, it frays, it pulls apart. If it weren't such lovely colors and didn't feel so nice, I sure wouldn't bother. Be prepared to work for it if you plan a large project with this.

Yarn breaks / frays!

I've bought quite a few balls of Chroma lace in different colours and so has my mum. It is so sad that it is all marked 'goodbye'. It comes in lovely colours, is a super cheap lace yarn and is the perfect length to try out new patterns without concern that the super precious expensive yarn is being used for experimenting. In my opinion excellent yarn for the price.

After reading glowing reviews about Chroma Lace, I purchased 12 skeins for a two-color brioche scarf KAL. When the package arrived, it smelled so strongly of chemicals I put it outside to air before it stunk up the house. After the sun went down, I checked on it but the stench hadn’t disapated. I called KP the next morning and was told to ‘leave it outside in the sun for a few days’. Hmmm, if I put it outside for 4 days or even a week in the sun, will the outer portion of the skein stop stinking and leave the stink in the core, will it fade in the California sun? Even it it does go away, is it really safe just because I don’t smell it any more? Do I want to gift it??? Let me think about that some more... I bought brand new yarn to knit an article of clothing to be worn by the face, I don’t want it to smell bad, ever! I wouldn’t even want to wear something away from my face if it smelled bad. In fact I wouldn’t want to wear anything that smelled bad. Why does it smell bad? I have NEVER purchased smelly yarn and I don’t want to start now. It’s wrong to buy something new and have to air it out, plain and simple.
