KNIT PICKS PATTERN COLLECTIONS
Knit Picks publishes between 14 - 18 exclusive pattern collections each year. Some of our collections are themed around a type of knitted item - for example socks, shawls, or blankets. Other collections feature a specific knitting technique, such as cables, lace, or colorwork. Designers for our collections are paid a flat fee for each pattern, and Knit Picks receives exclusive rights to the design for a period of time (1-2 years, depending on the size of the collection). Knit Picks takes care of all sample knitting, tech editing, photography, and pattern layout. After the exclusivity term is over, rights are transferred to the designer, who may continue to sell the pattern as part of our Independent Designer Partnership Program, as well as anywhere else you may choose.
All designers are welcome to submit proposals for consideration. Please read the details and instructions for each collection carefully, and review example before submitting your design. Current calls:
