Something Blue Dishcloth
When a bride is getting married, tradition holds that she must have something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue to carry with her down the aisle. On my wedding day, I had managed to fulfill the first three, but nearly panicked when I realized that I didn't have my something blue. Luckily, my brother-in-law was carrying a blue handkerchief that day that he was willing to loan me for the wedding. On the day that my husband and I were weaving our families together, I was aided by the family that had already been woven into mine.
The stitch pattern in this dishcloth represents the interweaving of families that happens when a couple chooses to spend their lives together. The cloth features a textured center surrounded by a garter stitch edge. The stitch pattern is both written and charted.
