This cowl is inspired by the warmth and comfort of being wrapped in a plaid blanket in front of the fireplace. Plaid patterns are constructed diagonally to make it more interesting.
The main body is worked flat diagonally with a stripe pattern; the two shorter edges are seamed using Mattress Stitch. Ribbing is then picked up and knit in the round on top and bottom. Vertical lines are added using slipped stitch crochet to create the plaid pattern.
