This afghan is one of the pieces in my collection titled: “How Does Your Garden Grow”. It was inspired by my father’s very random gardening style. His vegetable gardens were always very neat and meticulous, but his flower gardens were quite the opposite. There was never any rhyme or reason to them. There was no color scheme or grand plan. I tried to capture his “eclectic” style in this afghan. It is made in a traditional entrelac technique. Rectangles knit in a variety of colors are worked in stockinette and form the flowers. Those knit with yellow form the centers. Embossed leaves are knit into the green rectangles to form the background for the garden. A color chart is part of the pattern to help the knitter with color placement
