This close-fitting crewneck sweater features reinforced shoulder epaulets and elbow patches, much like a historic military commando sweater. The slipped stitch pattern detail on the elbows and shoulders adds a distinguished flare that sets it apart from the typical utilitarian version worn by those in uniform.

The Rockland Sweater is knit in the round from the bottom up, with set-in sleeves and a wide crew collar.

The Rockland Sweater by Cassie Castillo is a beautiful pattern! This was my first attempt at knitting a garment and I am very happy with my finished sweater. The pattern was at first glance intimidating, but after reading through, I was able to follow along step by step without much difficulty. Since I was totally new with this type of project, I did research a few of the instructions to gain a better understanding of some techniques but overall, it went very smoothly. The pattern measurements were right on target. I would happily make this again and recommend to others.
