There are a lot of errors and inconsistencies in the instructions. Having got part way through I've just found some more, so I'm now not convinced at all that it will work. I'm trying to decide if it worth continuing or unravelling the whole lot and sorting my own pattern out.

This is a beautiful cardigan that comes with the most complex and poorly written instructions I've ever tackled. With at least one abbreviation not even included in the legend, this knitter would rate it Difficult rather than Intermediate. I've tried it twice and given up both times. My knitting experience of 40+ years just wasn't enough! Good luck.
