This cardigan is knit in lace yarn held double, creating a lightweight garment that's perfect for chilly spring evenings or overly-enthusiastic office air conditioning. The stripes are created by adding a strand of variegated lace yarn to the mix every 6 rounds; the loose fabric allows this triple-stranding without changing the gauge and creates a subtle "scribbled" effect like a soft lead pencil drawing on creamy paper. Since this cardigan is knit in the round and steeked, you can carry the accent color up the steek in order to reduce the number of ends to weave in at the end. Folded sewn hems on the lower edge, collar, and front bands finish things off with a clean, modern look.

Love the pattern and the yarn...I did have to change needle size from a 5 to a 3 to get the correct gauge..I an not a tight or loose knitter, usually I am good with the patterns gauge.

I love this pattern and the wonderful instructions. I was so afraid of steeking and the instructions left no question on how to do it easily. The finishing detail work was exceptionally beautiful and so easy. This is beautiful, even when worked in just one solid color.
