The Butterfly Sweater is a simple, fitted silhouette that uses simple stockinette stitch throughout the entire body. The glamorous open back detail is accented with a crocheted butterfly motif that is both colorful and feminine. Use small amounts of different colored yarn or a couple different variegated yarns to create a similar effect for the butterfly detail. This intricate design detail is perfectly balanced against the simplicity of this flattering sweater. Note: The original yarn requirements used in this project called for 10 different colors of yarn in 3 different weights. We are suggesting that you use 2 weights of Chroma in 2 different colorways, to acheive a similar look

Laura Zukaite moved to the United States from Lithuania when she was 18 years old. A recent graduate of Parsons School of Design, she has published designs in some of the major knitting magazines and collective designer books. Luxe Knits is Laura’s first solo book and represents her design philosophy and creative process. Laura is currently pursuing her career as a sweater designer in New York City.
