Parting of the Ways Pullover
Inspired by the flowing, maze-like braids in illuminated Celtic medieval manuscripts, the striking central cable panel on this sweater moves up the front and back of the body, splits into separate braids to encompass the neck, and then joins at the shoulders.
Parting of the Ways is worked in the round from the hem up. The central cable panel splits with increases that make space for the neckline and create an exaggerated drop shoulder silhouette. The front and back separate at the underarm, arms are picked up and worked in the round from armhole to cuff, and the neckline is picked up and worked in the round. The stitch patterns are both charted and written.
