A lennan-shee (Irish: Leannan-sidhe) is a malicious faerie in Celtic folklore ~ a siren. The tune My Lagan Love speaks of these ethereal entities...and like the siren of the song we hope that this toe-up sock lures you into its thrall.

These toe-up socks have a wonderful multi-phase cable pattern on the instep and both front and back leg. The right and left sock each begin with their own chart, creating the mirrored diagonal cables from which the remainder of the pattern grows. Once the diagonal cable section is finished both the right and left sock use the same chart. The heel is turned using a short-row heel cap (which means no picking up stitches) and the heel flap is worked in a standard slip-stitch pattern. The cabled ribbing grows from the leg pattern.

Both charts and written directions for the charts are provided. Charts are contained in main pattern document; the written directions for charts are included at the back of the pattern. Written directions are formatted to accommodate those who like to knit 2-at-a-time.
