Kerry Lasses Socks
Kerry Lasses is a traditional Irish reel and, like so many tunes, is known by many names: Meadow in Bloom and Through the Fields (so reflective of the lace pattern in these socks) among many others. This lively tune is sure to get your toes a-tapping!
These toe-up socks begin with a French toe. This toe style produces a rounded toe for a great fit. The lace pattern is worked on the instep stitches while the sole is worked in Stockinette stitch. Tiny Garter stitch detailing highlights the gusset. The short-row heel cap means no picking up stitches and the heel flap is worked in the Eye of Partridge pattern. The instep lace pattern extends into the leg, which finishes in a tidy 1 x 1 ribbing.
