Indian Nights Blanket

A delightful variety of motifs, sizes, shapes, and colors to knit with, that, in the end, are stitched up into a mesmerizingly complex blanket!

Right at dusk, as the sunset fades, the sky rapidly goes from an almost electric violet-blue, to deep navy, and on to charcoal black. This blanket was inspired by that show, along with a sprinkling of exotic animals and colors throughout!

All of the colorwork is to be knit in the round, and the pieces on the edges are steeked. The blanket shown uses a fabric binding to enclose the steek. If desired, purchase some extra balls of the color of your choice and you could knit a border on. Otherwise you will need about 1 yard of fabric to make your binding.

This pattern is intended for knitters who are already comfortable using two colors of yarn at once, working from charts, and grafting. That said, adventurous beginners might enjoy giving it a shot. All the colorwork is right-side-out, and never more than two yarns at a time, so this is not difficult colorwork, just a tight gauge and a very large project!

If you love this pattern, but don't want to commit to the whole thing, work up one of the squares as a throw pillow! They should end up around 12x12 in (always depending how close you are to gauge), and you can always add some extra rounds to make them the size you need.
