Simply Wool Worsted

$6.99 100g / Hank

You’d have to shear your own sheep to get any more natural, this 100% Eco wool yarn is good for you and Mother Earth. The product of centuries of shepherding tradition, the balanced twist and dense, plump hand gives this yarn fabulous definition for textured or cabled sweaters and accessories. No dyes or bleach are used to process the yarn; the eight natural shades are created by meticulously sorting the fiber as it comes off the sheep. As colors are naturally occurring, some variation from skein to skein is normal.

I’m primarily a spinner, and this yarn is a joy to knit with. It also overdyes beautifully!

JUST NOW received my first order of Simply Wool yarn, and am very excited about the quality of the wool and the worsted spin technique as well. This aging teeny -bopper has been around for seven decades. I've been knitting since age five (thank you, Grandma) and I've seen lots of worsted weights and worsted spins. I'm here to tell you that Simply Wool is excellent wool, right up there with Ella Rae Classic, which is rather costly. And I haven't even knitted a swatch yet. This wool is the way wool is supposed to feel, just like Wool of the Andes. Oh, the possibilities when used with Wool of the Andes! Now I'm done; need to "keep the sticks clicking" like I promised Grandma, bless her stern Scottish heart.

I just finished knitting my second sweater this year in this yarn. It knits up very nicely, feels a little coarse compared to finer micron yarns but is not scractchy. I will be buying more of this yarn.

I have used Simply Wool Worsted for four woven twill blanket projects at 8 epi with great results. I love the natural color range and the minimal processing. This is a good product for hand weaving that I will be ordering again.

Ordered one if each if the greys to sample with. Lovely colors, nice “round” yarn for stitch definition in cables. Not a merino soft yarn but not scratchy for me personally (although everyone’s definition of scratchy is different). I am a handspinner, weaver, knitter who loves wool in its more natural, undyed form. This is a very reasonably priced workhorse of a yarn. Will buy sweater quantity.
