Aloft Super Kid Mohair Yarn

$6.99 25g / Ball

Luxuriously soft, light and airy, Aloft is a dreamy blend of 72% mohair and 28% silk that you will want to knit with again and again. The silk adds a radiant core that shimmers and shines through the soft halo of the mohair, while adding a beautiful drape and texture to any shawl, stole or scarf. Why not try holding Aloft doubled for a denser fabric, making it the perfect choice for a light-weight and surprisingly warm cardigan or wrap. Whether you use this yarn on its own or as an accent, you will find Aloft to be a versatile yarn perfectly suited for any project, big or small.

Aloft is so gorgeous.  I've been having such a hard time putting it down that I am a bit over a third of the way through knitting a big stole that I only started yesterday.  I know that the recipient will love it; the yarn is so soft and it has the most beautiful halo.  I would definitely recommend this yarn!

I really would love to see more color ways. Will they be adding back any more? I love this super soft yarn!

With the popularity of mohair projects, I beg Knit Picks to add more colors to their Aloft line. It is a lovely yarn! The hats and mittens I've made using Aloft are my favorites. Next up is a Like A Cloud cardigan with Aloft and Palette.

Aloft just might be my favorite Knit Picks yarn. I first bought it because I was curious about working with a silk mohair blend, and almost immediately fell in love. It is soft and lofty, just like the name implies. I’ve also found it to not be prone to shedding the way some other mohair yarns can be. I do hope that this yarn will soon be getting a color refresh and expansion, it is very sad that there are now only 9 colors available. I’d love to see a full rainbow of colors and shades in this yarn, several of my favorite colors have been discontinued and I wasn’t smart enough to stock up when I could.

This is LOVELY yarn. It's the perfect combination of soft, light, and warm. Because of the halo it can be knitted up with larger needles than the size usually typically used for lace-weight yarns, so a little goes a long, long way despite the small yardage. I've made a number of cowls using just one ball, most notably the Gentle Sky Cowl by Romi Hill, which took about 3/4s of a ball. Like many other customers I am sad to see so many colors being retired! (This sadness does mean I would buy more if there were more colors...)
