Sale! Chroma Fingering Yarn

$6.99 - $9.99 100g / ball  Original Price: $9.99

No matter your taste in colors, we have a rainbow waiting for you! Chroma is our color-transitioning 70% superwash wool and 30% nylon blend yarn. Pair the brightest colors with your boldest projects, or choose a subdued shade for gentle waves of changing color. The colors move gently through a single ply, creating subtly blended and shaded sections. Chroma is a single ply yarn that has differences in thickness that gives a handspun look to your finished projects.

You can also purchase four solid colorways - Bare, Brown, Grey, and Black. They pair beautifully with the multicolor shades for great Faux Isle and striped projects. Note: Chroma is now Superwash! Please note that while the bands on some balls may still say 'hand wash only' - your Chroma is indeed machine washable!

Also available in worsted weight.

For Chroma fans, please note that new colors now features a mirrored repeat instead of sequential.

"I used Knit Picks' Chroma fingering to make a beautiful entrelec scarf.  The yarn is soft and smooth and very easy to work with.  I highly recommend it and will be buying more!" -Melissa, Knit Picks customer

Just like its worsted counterpart, this is a fabulous yarn. I don't understand why some reviewers are giving it a bad rating for its thick/thin texture. The description of the product clearly states it has a thick/thin texture, like a handspun yarn. If you need a uniform yarn, this is not for you.

At first I too, hesitated to purchase this yarn due to the reviews. I ordered 6 balls of yarn anyways because of the colors. I am so glad that I did. The colors are absolutely beautiful!! So vibrant and blend so well. Yes the yarn will get thin but does not weaken in strength, and quickly will return to normal. It does get thick but again it has not made a difference in the quality of my shawl projects. I have never found any knots where colors were joined. I will definitely purchase these again!! "Surfs Up" is a beautiful teal!!!

Whilst the colour changes are lovely, I’m afraid that is the only positive with this yarn. Unfortunately the inconsistency in thickness is extreme and makes it unpleasant to work with. Unfortunately I couldn’t recommend this yarn and would not consider buying again. I have not had this experience with other knitpicks yarns.

I knit a lace shawl with Lupine and love the color change. Unlike some of the reviews I had no problem with the yarn. It can get thin and I can knit tightly but had no breakage. It's been washed & blocked is one of my favorites. I bought additional yarn in Vermont and can't wait to get started on it.

I had used this yarn before without any problems, but the ball I am using now is terrible quality, I don't mind the thick and thin but the thin in this ball is like sewing thread and the thick is almost bulky, it breaks far too easily, have had to rejoin several times and I am only halfway through my project, while I love the subtle colour change the quality of this yarn is awful, what happened?? very disappointed in this product!
