Sale! City Tweed Aran/HW Yarn

$6.59 - $10.99 100g / ball  Original Price: $10.99

This yarn begins with alpaca and Merino fibers dyed two different colors and then blended together to make a subtle rich, lustrous heather. We chose neutral color Donegal tweed neps to incorporate into the 2-ply yarn. Donegal is a series of viscose neps (think slubs or bits of lint) that are suspended in a very fine acrylic mesh which allows them to be spun alongside the longer alpaca and Merino fibers. In the yarn, you won’t be able to see the acrylic web at all, and the neps will appear either on the surface of the yarn or spun inside the yarn strand. The high ratio of neps gives City Tweed a traditional appeal. The use of Merino and alpaca makes it soft and warm. Retail: $10.99

"This yarn is wonderful!!!  While it looks rustic, hardy and rugged, it feels like a little bit of heaven.  It was a pleasure to knit with and I will definitely be ordering more." -Fran, Knit Picks customer

I knitted this yarn up in a shawl collared cardigan with pockets and cuffed sleeves for my daughter who is an assistant professor. We entered it in the Utah State Fair super senior division and the sweater won first place. A very nice yarn, I am now knitting a sweater in the DK weight.

Wonderful yarn to knit and great stitch definition. I ordered some additional yarn, which I have been looking forward to receiving, but it's taken nearly 2 weeks to arrive. I have suggested another shipping affiliate to Knitpicks, this method of delivery is not acceptable after paying nearly $6 in shipping fees. But, if you're not in a hurry, great yarn.

I never write reviews, but felt I must share how much I love this yarn. It is so thick and plush and LUXE. This is offset by the classic rustic tweed. Such a great value for an alpaca wool blend. Only request is for more colours.

Just not enough colors to plan a multi-color project.

I love this yarn--it is soft and knits up easy. The colors on my screen are actually darker in real life. Orca looks medium gray but is a dark charcoal--Toad love that name is a dark olive. So I am a bit disappointed there, but what can you do. I wanted the colors a bit lighter to show the cables better
