Celtic Kilraine
The Cottage in Kilraine is a traditional ballad that relates a story of happenstance and love.
"…The mother she shook hands with me saying I hope you'll call again; For you know you're always welcome in a cottage in Kilraine..."
These toe-up socks begin with a wide toe. The gusset shaping is worked at the center of the instep which allows the instep cables to move along the side of the foot and end when they are incorporated into the heel flap. The heel is turned using short rows and the heel flap is worked in a standard slip-stitch pattern.
Notes are provided on adjusting foot length.
Knitters need to be able to read their knitting i.e. identify knit and purl stitches as they present themselves, to work the stretchy bind off given. An alternate stretchy bind off may be used.
The instep, gusset and leg stitch patterns are charted only.
