A celebration of Canadian-American ties, the Cabri Waltz that inspired this design is named for a small Saskatchewan town, but popularized by Joe Pancerzewski, a North Dakota fiddler. The delicate cable and lace pattern on the back of this shell mirrors the wonderfully elegant yet lively contra dances where this tune would have been a star.

The Cabri Shell is knit in the round from the bottom up. A provisional cast on is used to add a decorative border to the split hem, stitches are cast on at the armpits for sleeves and an i-cord bind off is used to finish the neck.

This pattern is fully charted.
