The Knitter's Book of Finishing Techniques (Softcover)

Retail: $19.99

You've probably heard this before, but it's absolutely true, outstanding quality is achieved by attention to detail--the garnish added to soup, the silky lining in a pair of pants and the smooth finish of a knitted garment. Nancie's spent a lot of time perfecting the finishing touches for not only sweaters, but also afghans, scarves and other knitted items. In this book she shares her tried-and-true techniques along with the benefits and drawbacks of each one. She starts at the beginning with various cast-ons, increases and decreases. Next, she divulges secrets to selvages, seams and bind offs. There's also oodles of great information on picking up stitches, working borders, bands and buttonholes and other odds and ends. A wonderful reference no knitter should be without. Now in Softcover.

This book is one of the best technique books you will ever buy. I have been knitting for 45 years and still look things up in this book. The one-row buttonhole is fabulous and looks great on ribbing. Her instructions are extremely clear and easy to understand. I worked in a knit shop and sold MANY of these, but never had one returned. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
