The Complete Photo Guide to Felting

$14.99 40% off
Retail: $24.99

More than 2,000 years ago, humans discovered that wool fibers could be felted into a dense, matted fabric that would provide warmth and protection; now this ancient technique can help you create everything from cute coasters to decorative, hyper-realistic squirrels. Isn't history fun?

A classic reference guide at the core, The Complete Photo Guide to Felting is indeed suitable for absolute beginners (especially you visual learners out there). Along with loads of design inspiration, you'll find start-to-finish directions for:

- Cleaning, carding and combining raw wool
- Dyeing fibers and blending colors
- Traditional wet felting, laminate felting and needle felting

This is a magnificent book! I'm a beginner but partly because I was a) unsure which kind of felting was used in the various felted garments and artworks that inspire me and, b) any kind of felting other than needle felting was a mystery to me, except that I knew it was physically difficult (a problem for me as I've had arthritis since I was 24). This book covers all sorts of felting, i stead of just one as most books do, and has so many photos that I felt as though I'd been in a studio having a private lesson - I read it cover to cover in one day, could not put it diwn. Highly recommended!
