Here's the math on those patterns: 3 patterns each for cuffs, toes, and heels, plus 12 stitch patterns. 3 heels [3 toes (3 cuffs * 12 stitch patterns)]=324 possible combinations.

Not worth the price even on sale. Very disappointed.

The one thing I can laugh at myself for is NOT READING the reviews before buying. Unless you are very comfortable working from charts and symbols - THIS BOOK IS PROBABLY NOT FOR YOU EITHER.

I didnt see the 324 different varieties, the description sounds a lot bigger than what the book actually provides. It is basically a pamphlet with a few stitch patterns (moss etc) and 3 ways to knit toes, or cuffs or heels. I havent worked out yet how to combine these three suggestions with the limited stitch patter designs to get 324 designs.

My downloaded book did not come with any legends for any of the charts. Have no idea what the symbols mean so book is almost useless.

When you see "choose from 324 different combinations", you think you'll be getting a lot variety. Well, you're not. This book is 3 toes, 3 cuffs and some stitch patterns. Nothing that can't be find online for free.

I purchased this book to help me handle an "overload" of Stroll sock yarn. I am glad I did not ask for it as a gift, because I confess to being a bit disappointed. This book gives written instructions, both toe-up and top-down, for 3 each cuffs, heels and toes. There are charted directions for 12 body patterns. "324 combinations" can be formed using this book, and the math is correct. I would prefer to see more body patterns, because for me, that's where the "fun" is. This book is a good, basic resource for sock knitters. Enjoy your day.

I bought the first version "Sock Cocktails", years ago and I used it to make my very first pair of socks. The inductions are straight forward and I learned some new techniques. I even changed colors for the toe and heel parts. They turned out GREAT! I've made more since then and this has become my go-to pattern. With such variety and customization, I've never needed to try another pattern. Great work and thank you for providing such an excellent pattern!

I love this book! I would recommend this to anyone who loves to knit socks. I hadn't even finished my first pair and my mind was jumping to the next pair. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who has yet to make that first pair of socks, there is some of the written instructions that you might not quite be able to follow unless you have already seen it done ( but with the internet, there is a lot of videos to show you what you don't understand on your own).
