This is a great book, but unfortunately there is at least one MAJOR error in it and unfortunately it's on the sweater and size I want to make. Sigh. The Lunde, woman's L, the gauge is way off. The other sizes for Lunde are fine, but not the L. If I followed the directions, it would be about 45" around instead of 49. Right now I'm trying to figure out the best way to fix it--increase needle size or change the number of stitches. There is at least one other sweater I want to make from this book and I'm hoping it's OK! The patterns are visually stunning...but check your gauge carefully and do the math FIRST!

I would purchase this book just for the beautiful photography and the travel notes that are so inviting! The Sunde region of Norway, where the author lives, is now on my wish list for an upcoming visit. Irene Haugland has created some lovely knitted garments that beg to be tried, especially by those of us who are ever so proud of our Norwegian family ties.
