This is a ground-breaking book that probably launched graphed knitting in the US in modern times. Her system of charting symbols is very clear and usually mimics the stitch, so they're easy to read. They don't always match the current usual standard symbols--some are better, some less clear. But she gives meticulous instructions in how to accomplish the stitch, so youtube is just gravy for any but the most obscure moves--or for those who prefer to be shown. The lady's one of the giants of knitting.
