A librarian savant put this book out on display on a stand and I stopped, mesmerized by the really modern-looking 2-color stitch patterns. For the first time ever in my life, I brought the book home, starting flipping through it, started jabbing at these AMAZING modern, eccentric, witty, timeless, punk/meta/innovative patterns and showing them to my partner, and before I'd even gotten a quarter of the way through, said to myself, "I'm buying this book ASAP. I will love it forever." This collection is genius from start to finish. There's all sorts of technical learning at the beginning, and a delightful introduction which reveals how dually-created these stitch motifs are. And the patterns! I'll spare you a slew of any more adjectives and just say that these are clever and infinitely applicable.

This is my new go-to book. I have been using these patterns for hat after hat after hat! It's a great way to experiment with color and pattern. There is an astonishing variety of motifs to work with from pooping pigs to sophisticated brocades.

I previously checked this book out at the library so I already knew I would love it. I’m so glad it was on sale! Great designs, new and fresh, nice clear photos. I highly recommend this book, especially while it is on sale.
