I ordered the medium and never read the reviews. Started to feel a bit apprehensive. However, they are perfect. Nice and smooth edges. I probably should have done this years ago.

I ordered the large - I knit socks for my own size 10 feet (selfish sock knitter here!), and these are perfect. No issues with rough edges on the plastic, either.

I am currently ordering the large size, which will probably be large enough to block socks for my feet, since it is only a little smaller than the length of my foot, BUT I do not have nearly as large feet as quite a few people I know and I am sure that there are plenty of other people who would like to knit or crochet socks for people with big feet. Seriously, even if they had to cost twice as much because there were not as many people that bought them, why not have both larger and smaller sizes? Smaller sizes for children's socks as well as occasional small adult feet, and at least two bigger sizes for up to men's size 15 shoe sizes. Knit Picks is a store by knitters for knitters, and as such they are one place that I would expect to see the need for more than three sizes of sock blockers. Extra large size shoes are not offered by every shoe store and they tend to cost substantially extra, but people with big feet buy them anyhow because they have to. These same people also pay extra for store bought socks. So I would expect to pay extra for the sock blockers, but it would be worth it if you have very large feet or if you make a lot of socks for other people with large feet, and similarly for small adult feet or children, who also deserve nice socks. I understand why the sock knitting kits only come with the medium size blockers, although that also seems a little unfair. But I have tried for years to figure out how to make my own sock blockers in a wider range of sizes, ever since I first started knitting, and I cannot see a practical way to make a set of sock blockers at home that isn't very difficult but that will last getting wet over and over and be smooth enough not to snag. Certainly it would be much easier to buy blockers in every size you need than to make them at home by any of the methods and materials that I have thought of. Please consider offering at least two larger sizes and several smaller sizes.

Quick tip. I use these blockers all the time, I use the wrong end for larger socks and they work just as well.

Like others have said, the ones I ordered (3 pair so far) had rough edges. I used an emory board (nail file) to smooth the edges, and then they were fine. I've been using them for several years now, and I really appreciate that they work great and are much less expensive than the wooden ones found elsewhere.
