Single Pack 16" Green Cables (for short tips)

Specifically used with the Caspian Interchangeable Circular Short Tips, the smooth cable join lets your stitches slide around your knitting needles with no snags while the long threaded join ensures that your cables and knitting needle tips stay securely in place.

Additionally, the flexible emerald cable has very little memory so you can start knitting immediately. Simply unscrew the needle tips and screw on the cable caps to keep your knitting safe when your needle tips are required elsewhere. Lace knitters will love that they can tie a piece of scrap yarn through the tiny hole in the cable end (used for the tightening key) and thread a lifeline through their lacework at regular intervals while they are knitting.

Interchangeable short needle tips are available in sizes US 4 (3.50mm) through US 10 (6.00mm). The Options Interchangeable Short Needle Set includes sizes US 4 (3.50mm) through US 10 (6.00mm) plus two each of the 16" cables in a handy flexible organizer. I frequently use Knitpicks interchangeable needles as "straight" or "single point" needles, with an interchangeable tip on one end of a cable and a cap on the other end. With two needles set up this way, I can knit back and forth from one needle to the other, but I can also store the work in progress in a small tote bag that would not hold a 14" straight, single point needle. I have been using the 24" cables to do this, but for projects like scarves that do not need that long a needle, these cables will be even better! (Oh, I will use these cables with longer tips when I am using bulky or chunky yarn or multiple strands of worsted weight, and as long as I only have a needle tip on one end and am knitting back and forth between two separate needles, I will not run into problems with too much strain on the longer tips, because neither needle is being bent.) I also have some short tips for making sleeves on sweaters and other projects that call for knitting in the round in tight circles, and of course I will not use the longer tips on these projects. But I especially recommend using these cables with any Knitpicks needle tips in place of conventional straight single point needles.Try it on the next project that you would have used straight single points, and I bet you feel the same.
