Lace Blocking Wires

$14.99 25% off

Simply slip the wire through the edges of your lace project and place pins along the inside of the wires to hold them in place while the lace dries. If you have scalloped edges you will want to slip the wire through the outer edges of your scallops to emphasize them. Follow the same rules as pin or string blocking by measuring the radius of your finished piece as you adjust the wires. Set comes with 15 (34.5"/880mm long) straight wires (est. 15 gauge), 20 nickel-plated T-pins and blocking instructions. All wires are stainless steel and rust proof. The first time you use your blocking wires, wipe them with a soft cloth to remove manufacturing residue.
Note: Sorry, this item ships ground only (no 2nd day) and will ship separately from other items.

“The wires tame like a race car!”  Creative Knitting November 2009

“I recently got the Knit Picks Lace Blocking Wires and this was my first time using it. It took some time to thread the wires through, but after that, it makes it so easy to form straight sides. I am so glad I bought them!”  Oiyi

Podcast episode 123 is all about blocking your knitted projects.

The first time I received this package, it was damaged and empty. The second time they send it, I got the lace blocking wires, but no T pins. I’m really disappointed that I have now waited almost a month for these and still have not received everything in the description of what I paid for. NOTE FROM KNIT PICKS: Please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-574-1323. We'd be happy to take care of this for you.

Es lo que necesitaba, me encantan, recomiendo limpiarlos antes de usarlos, y se pueden almacenar en el mismo tubo del envio. It's what I needed, I love them, I recommend cleaning them before using them, and they can be stored in the same shipping tube.

For storage I recommend a PVC tube from the hardware store and two end caps.

Contact a blueprint or engineer's office. Large format printers use paper on 36"-wide rolls and their core tubes are perfect for this purpose. You might be able to get one at no cost.

Yes! Not only made sewing sides and sleeves easier, for the first time, I set sleeves into a knitted sweater without ripping out and resewing until they fit right. The flexible wires woven into the crown of the sleeves did the trick! Highly recommented.
