Simply Cotton Organic Sport Yarn

$2.49 50g / ball

Our luxurious 100% organic cotton yarn is good for you and Mother Earth. The colors are naturally occurring shades, free from dyes or bleach. It’s super soft, easy to work with and sure to bring pleasure to anyone who wears it. Color may vary from skein to skein since it is naturally occurring and not dyed. You may also expect a 5-10% shrinkage in length of knitted fabric. We highly recommend knitting a swatch and washing and drying it the way you intend to wash and dry the final project to check shrinkage and gauge before knitting your project.

Note: The colors may fade or darken depending on light exposure, time spent wet, and clothes dryers. After time, the color will return to normal, but some discoloring can be expected.

I have loved the organic cotton line. I have primarily used the fingering weight. I prefer small wash cloths for my skin. The small wash cloths give me better feedback as I wash myself. My skin has become so very sensitive that regular wash cloths can actually tear it. I also get two wash cloths per ball (at 2 st/in.) which makes the wash clothes very thrifty indeed! The small soft wash cloths have been a hit at baby showers. A lovely outcome for "mindless" knitting. Now I have problems with my feet becoming sensitive in the summer. {they have no issue with my sock blend woolen socks as long as I keep the gauge at 10 st per inch} I would love to make fingering weight cotton socks for the summer. It appears that I will have to find organic fingering weight yarn else where. I doubt that it will be as lovely and as soft/cushy as your Simply Cotton line. I am planning on making sport- weight cotton bonnets/caps for my young great-nieces and nephew to wear this summer. I am still deciding on the patterns. I do wish you could bring the Simply Cotton Organic Yarn line back.

I love this yarn! The yarn is very soft even after dyeing. Everyone mourning the lack of colour options should pick up some iDye packets while you're shopping the site and you'll never look back. The yarn does shrink noticeably using hot water dyes but if you've allowed for that you will love the results.

This is a wonderful organic yarn. I used the worsted to weave some towels. it worked up wonderfully. Would love to see the colors come back.

This is the best & softest yarn! I have re-ordered more skeins three different times. Perfect for making baby blankets. It's very easy to work with. I just wish it came in soft pinks, soft blues & pale yellow. I don't even look at other yarns now. I really encourage any one who has any doubts about this yarn to try this & I know they'll be sold!

I love, love, love this yarn! It is wonderful to work with and super soft. I have pretty severe allergies to chemicals of all kinds, and this yarn didn't set them off at all. Please keep stocking this, Knitpicks! I'd love to see the other colors come back as well.

I love this yarn. I wish the natural colours offered when this line of yarn first came out would be offered again. This is a beautiful, soft yarn that wears well and gives a nice stitch definition. It makes comfortable slouch hats for when it's not quite cold enough for wool tuques, and very cozy tops and blankets. I use it to make mittens for sleeping because of my eczema, they're so much better than store-bought gloves since they don't stretch out of shape. Please keep stocking this yarn!

This is my absolute favorite yarn line. I love that it's made of organic materials, and I love more that it's soft and easy to work with. Makes perfect baby blankets and garments. I only wish (and oh how I wish!) KnitPicks would bring back the colors!

This is wonderful yarn - so soft, easy to knit with, and so affordable! I couldn't ask for more in an organic, cotton yarn. I'm almost finished with a lace, summer top in this yarn, and I can't wait to show it off. I'm also about to start a baby rattle that is a cute, little duck with this. I need more some brown or tan for the beak though. Please order more!

This yarn is wonderful to work with. I am making a baby blanket with a sc, hdc in one stitch then skip one, across. Love this! It works so easily. Hope KP orders more!
