"I recently knitted a lovely shrug with Shine Worsted.  It came out beautifully, made in this oh-so-soft to the touch worsted weight yarn.  What do I love about this yarn?  First of all, a soft, very smooth texture that doesn't pill.  Next, the price!  I knit my entire shrug for under $20 - wow!!  The yarn is comfortable year round and is really wonderful to work with.  I will definitely use this yarn again!"  -Natalie, Knit Picks customer

I love this yarn, in both Worsted and Sport weights. I've made baby leggings and cardigans with the sport weight and a big pinwheel blanket with the worsted weight. Everything has turned out beautifully. I accidentally bundled up the pinwheel blanket into the washing machine last week (English front loading, so it was in there for an hour and a half and I couldn't open the door to retrieve it!) and when it came out, I gave it a shake, draped it over the back of the sofa and it's dried perfectly. If anything, it's softer. The colours (hollyberry and cream) didn't run and even the edging which is done in sportweight looks fine. (It's on my Ravlery page). I'm buying more colours today to make another pinwheel for a baby gift because soft washable yarn is a must! :) I'm just really glad that Knitpicks now ships to England so I don't have to persuade US friends to dropship me my yarn fix :D

I used this yarn to crochet a baby blanket for my nephew. The yarn was BEAUTIFUL and very easy to work with. My pattern had some challenges so I ripped stitches out a few times but felt that the yarn held up to being reused. The colors I received matched the colors I saw online. The yarn is soft and the weight was perfect for my project. As far as how well it hold up to use, I cannot say. The blanket I made is a bunch of fox heads that were then stitched together. My brother and SIL won't actually use the blanket because they are afraid of ruining it, so it's used as decor over the back of a rocker, and hasn't experienced any wear and tear. I can say though, that I'd happily use it again.

I have not used this specific yarn yet but have a question. How would this work for women's chemo caps? Would it be comfortable? Thanks for any input!

I love this yarn because it is so soft and silky. I have been making baby afghans with it. The vibrant colors are very nice, the red (SERRANO) being my favorite. I do want to mention that BLUSH is not like the color online. I was expecting a paler, more delicate shade of pink. The CLARITY has a bit more color than described. I would recommend this yarn for anything baby.

I love this yarn! It is lovely to work with and is so soft. As many others have noted, it does shed a fair amount, which is why I'm not giving it 5 stars. I do wish it would come in larger skeins! Joining slick yarn like this is difficult, especially given that it only comes in 50g balls.

I love this yarn for everything baby! It is so very soft, completely unlike any other cotton I have used. It even has some elastic to it when knitting - therefore it is a pleasure to have on the needles. It glides with ease, feels amazing in your hands, and the finished product looks gorgeous. The shine is not a "cheap" yarn look at all, instead it makes it more attractive to reach for to touch it. I love this stuff. When I get it in the mail, Ia m almost drooling...and I will put any other project away so I can start on something with this stuff. It's addictive. Makes the most boring patterns more fun to knit. And I don't find it splitty or really bad in the shedding department like other reviewers. It is fiber and therefore, the fiber acts like fiber...so I am not sure what the expectations are in terms of having it not be like fiber. Anyway, I can't say enough about this yarn. Every time I am knitting with it around other knitters, the ooh and ahhh over it and ask where I got it.

This isn't so much as a review, but more like a question. I had purchased this yarn in a different brand, same fibers. My problem with that yarn was that it snaged on everything that touched it. It was almost impossible to knit because of the snagging. Loved the feel & the sheen, I just couldn't get over the snagging & splintering. My question is this-is this yarn the same? I have already spent a small fortune on a previous purchase, I just didn't want to make the same mistake again. Any feedback would be greatly appreciate.

This yarn is so soft and beautiful. I had several colors in my stash, so I gave a skein of cream and a skein of black to my 9-yr-old, who wanted to knit up a pair of fingerless gloves/hand warmers (the Owl Mitts pattern by Amanda Jones on Ravelry). With that amount, she was able to knit up a pair (black cuffs, cream body) with some yarn left over, and they look and feel really beautiful. My big complaint with this yarn, though, is that it sheds/fuzzes like crazy, and it splits very easily. Less experienced knitters might struggle with that, as my daughter did. I will continue to buy it because I love the softness and the price, but the shedding and splitting is what keeps it from being a 5-star yarn.

I love everything about this yarn! It is soft and knits up well, blocks well and washes up wonderfully. It doesn't fade or pill either! I would love to see it in a BULKY weight. I use this for all of my baby blankets but some patterns call for bulky yarn and I have to find another kind to use.

This yarn is wonderful! It feels really good against the skin and the Macaw color is gorgeous if you are seeking a true green. I wish this yarn came in more vibrant primary colors but the selection is still good.

I purchased just a sampling of this yarn to try it out. My end goal is to make a cotton blend blanket, but before I invested in that much yarn, I wanted to try it out, so I am using my sampling for a corner to corner scarf. I love the feel and the look of the yarn. It has more memory than 100% cotton so that is much nicer for most wearable projects. The yarn is soft and lustrous, though the name is misleading. It is not as shiny as I expected it would be. For my purpose, this doesn't matter, but if you are looking for a yarn with a standout sheen, this may not meet your needs. Now the only negative thing I have to say is that the size of the yarn ball is entirely too small to do anything of use. Unless you are making a dishcloth or something else very small like that, this size of yarn ball is completely useless in my opinion. At the very least this should be doubled, and honestly, I think it should be tripled or quadrupled or at least have a large and small skein purchasing option. As it stands, you get 75 yards. I am making a scarf that is not super large, and I am going to require at least 12 skeins. TWELVE... That is a bit ridiculous. Knit Picks - please correct this. It is a worsted yarn. Nobody is using a worsted yarn for a tiny small project or at least not often anyway. You need more yardage. I love this yarn and would love to make the blanket I have planned with this yarn, but the blanket is large and I honestly cannot be bothered to have to break out a new skein of yarn of 75 yards so I am going to use a different option I found at WEBS. I like your yarn better, but 75 yards is ridiculously small for a worsted weight yarn that yields larger stitches.

I love this yarn. It has a very soft & lofty feel, that makes it a perfect FL substitute for wool. I've used it for several scarves & cowls, and, most recently, tons of pink pussy hats for Orlando's sister March on Washington.

I love this soft silky yarn. I've just made a scarf for my niece using it, and I know she will love the feel. I will probably advise her to hand wash and hang dry, though.

I bought this yarn to make a baby blanket for my friend. The pattern I use calls for a basketweave stitch, and just like the description says this yarn is excellent for showcasing unique stitches! It was easy to work with, and even though I had to frog the blanket TWICE before it was done, I still didn't have any trouble with splitting or pilling.

This is a very light weight worsted. While the material is incredibly soft and buttery, it fails miserably at the correct weight. Plan to use this as a semi-light worsted or somewhat heavier sport.

The yarn was lovely to knit with, but it is a good thing I ordered two colors, as the blush was not pink at all, as described. It was sort of a flesh-toned, peachy color! The reef color was a good match to the color on my computer screen.

Just heads up "Blush" picture isnt even close to actual color. Color is brighter pink with a slight lean towards orange Not a soft pink at all.. the Cosmopolitan is slightly more purple what I would call fushia. Still love this yarn... so far all other colors are pretty true to pics.

Love Shine Worsted yarn -- the feel and drape of this is baby soft. The colors are soft and coordinate very well together. I made the baby blue blanket in 5 shades of purple for my granddaughter and it turned out lovely! I picked this yarn for the natural fibers and that it was being used for a baby blanket. I expect that it will become a favorite. Wish there were more colors and maybe a 100 gm ball. Absolutely 5 stars overall for this yarn!!!!

I received my order for 18 skeins of BLUSH, yesterday. The BLUSH description said: Blush is a delicate, soft pink color with a slight bluish undertone. Very close in shade to a baby pink, It is not a delicate, soft baby pink. It is a medium CORAL. I was so excited to order this yarn, having seen a project that a fellow knitter was making, using Shine, at a knitter's gathering. Now, after reading all the reviews, I'm not surprised that this yarn isn't what I expected.

I bought this yarn just for dish and washcloths--for me and my family. I am very impressed with the feel, look and softness of it. My fingers are crossed that the yarn will not "fuzz" but for me, it probably doesn't really matter. I think dishcloths won't mind. Still--hope this will become my favorite "dish and Washcloth yarn."

I have ordered this yarn in the past and have been very happy with the product. I ordered the Shine Worsted in Wallaby as the description stated it was a"medium gray charcoal color". Based on the description and the photo provided I thought it would be the perfect color. The color I received is more of a very deep olive tone, not at all what was described. The quality of the yarn I am very happy with, I am now hesitant to order other yarns on line based on the color description.

I recently finished knitting a baby blanket in this yarn. The color was beautifully vivid (peapod). The yarn has a beautiful shine and drape to it. The finished product was soft and heavy. I machine washed it and let it dry naturally. The yarn become a bit worn looking as you knit it with fuzzy pieces coming off after washing. I'm wondering if this will increase with time. Overall, it made a beautiful blanket. I just wonder how long it will stay that way. As far as knitting with it goes, it was okay. It split rather badly. There was little elasticity which is just the nature of cotton. I couldn't wait to get back to knitting with animal fibers. All in all, rating from one to ten, I'd give it a six.

Loving this yarn! Made a baby blanket with Honeydew and it came out so nice! Only thing I wish is the skeins were bigger....my new favorite yarn!! Thank you Knit Picks!

I love this yarn but I do have a problem with the color Pistachio. I ordered it and it looks much more similar to the green that is called Macaw than it does the color pictured here.

I ordered black, white, robot, and serenade of this yarn to make a crocheted scarf. It worked wonderful for crocheting. However, I did have to use 4 skeins of this for one scarf (62" long, 6" wide; using sc stitch), but the cost is low enough that I don't mind. Black, white, and robot were pretty close to their promo photos, but serenade was a tad darker in person. Overall I really enjoyed this yarn and will purchase again!

As I knit, the yarn was soft but felt stretchy and heavy. When I finished the sweater I was knitting for my daughter for Christmas I decided I would wash it rather than her do the first wash and face any surprises. I'm glad I did. The yarn pilled and feathered. I was so disappointed, I rushed to find something else to give to her. I put a lot of work into this sweater. It was really beautiful...before being washed on shortened gentle cycle.

Loved the feel and finished product of this yarn so much after knitting an afghan - that I used it again for another. BIG problem is the fuzzing!! No matter how many times you wash it - the fuzzing doesn't go away. Both afghans were for college students - & the fuzzing is a real issue. Won't be using this yarn again.

I wanted to see what is this knitting with cotton about... I love it! knitted couple of toys. I love how soft it is, how nicely it knits. usually I knit in baby alpaca or alpaca so I am used to extreme softness. This cotton did not let me down. Ordered it in many colors, all are beautiful. I could wish only one thing, bigger skeins, 100 g would do nicely, simply for less connecting. :D

This is my absolute favourite yarn. So smooth and soft and squishy. I made a giant afghan out of it and while it was expensive to make it's my favourite blanket. Cool enough to nap under in the summer and warm for winter. I have made a baby sweater out of it with no problem but I can see as PP said why it might not keep its shape in adult clothing. For blankets, pillow covers, and baby stuff - tops!

I used Shine in Currant to knit a shrug, it was the perfect match for a pair of grey/burgundy linen slacks. But - so disappointing, it fuzzes really badly, has now been washed and dried twice with no improvement and has ruined 2 white tops. I am assuming that the plant fibers are the problem. What a waste of money and time. Not the usual quality that I get from Knit Picks.

This yarn is the softest cotton blend I've ever felt! It's beautiful and shiny and soft, soft, soft. I originally bought some to make dishcloths with, but I loved it so much that I bought more to make a baby blanket for a friend. Shine is going to be my go-to cotton blend from now on. I love it!

I just finished using this yarn to crochet a scarf for a friend. I used Currant (which was a little darker than I originally thought it would be) and Cream for the border (I had bought Robot but did not like the way it looked with the currant upon arrival). I really enjoyed using this yarn. It is quite soft, not very splitty and did not dry out my hands like most cotton yarns do. I do wish it came in 100g balls and perhaps a darker grey color but that is not a deal breaker. I will look into using this the next time I have a baby blanket that needs to be made.

I commissioned a baby blanket and the knitter chose this yarn. One wash and it looks like complete junk. It's faded and pulled already. What a waste of my money. Very disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars

I bought this yarn for a pair of baby boots I crocheted, and they came out perfect! The yarn is soft and just stretchy enough to give a little room to grow. I had crocheted a swatch and washed several times, and it held up very well. I'm very pleased and will be buying again. I only wish these came in slightly bigger skeins!

I absolutely love this yarn as far as texture, washability, softness and "knitability"(smooth, non splitting, etc.). However, the colors listed and descriptions are not even close to what color they really are. The platinum, I just received is a sort of odd pale greenish and the robot (an earlier purchase) was not brown or grey. Today I am disappointed because by the time I take off the return shipping charges, it's worth it to just stash it.

I can't say enough about this yarn. I used the sport weight to make a lace baby blanket for my son and I continue to be amazed at the softness and drape of it. I just finished crocheting a cardigan for my daughter in the worsted weight and again, it's lovely. I launder it gently and hang to dry and it has been wonderful.

OMG!!! Love, love, LOVE this yarn!!! I haven't been able to knit with cotton yarns for a couple years due to worsening arthritis, but this has just enough spring and give that I can knit comfortably with it for HOURS! Yes!!! The colors are gorgeous, with a lovely sheen that looks like silk, plus beautiful drape and stitch definition. And so so soft! This is my new favorite spring/summer yarn, and I plan on making tons of tanks and tees with Shine this summer. Totally happy customer, again!

I bought this along with CotLin and Dishie to experiment and see which I would like to use to make some decent placemats. I bought the Shine Worsted by mistake; I wanted the sport weight. However, I knit up a dishcloth with this stuff and loved knitting with it, loved the feel and the look of it. I believe this is what I'm going to be using. It isn't flimsy, so I don't have to double the yarn and it's washable and I think it will look great.

5 out of 5 stars

I purchased one skein of 14 different colors for a baby blanket, and am very pleased with it! All the colors look great together, and the weight of the yarn makes for a quick knit. It's soft and doesn't split easily. Best thing . . . I can make a baby item for my cousins in Texas without hurting my hands! Usually cotton hurts and I can't knit with it for long, but the Modal in Shine Worsted gives it enough bounce to go easy on the knitter. From a sweater I made for my mom many, many years ago, I know the yarn washes and holds up well. Now both my girls want blankets!

1 out of 5 stars

I used this yarn for the first time to make a sweater for myself. It looked beautiful when I finished it and I was proud and pleased to wear it on a damp but warm day. It seemed to get larger by the minute. I haven't put it back on since because it now looks like it was made for someone nearly twice my size.

5 out of 5 stars

Love this yarn! It is now my go-to choice whenever I want a cotton blend, particularly for baby things. It has a lovely texture and just the right amount of give. I love the feel of it. I have tried the comfy and it is nice--but shine is the winner. Just wish there were more color choices

This yarn is lovely to work with. It is so soft and holds its shape very well. I"ll be using it a lot more.

5 out of 5 stars

Loved this yarn. Was doing a tricky pattern and had to do a lot of ripping out; the yarn held up well and did not separate.

5 out of 5 stars

I adore this yarn! It works up so nicely, the stitches are so nice and crisp, and it's so soft! All my baby projects will be made of this from now on!

3 out of 5 stars

I have to say, I was a little disappointed with this yarn. I knitted a baby blanket, and while I loved how soft the yarn felt, I really felt like the yarn was very stretchy. I am a novice knitter/crocheter and I found it hard to keep my stitches even because of how stretchy it was. I also found that when I washed my final product, it was still so stretchy afterward. Perhaps I envisioned something different when I purchased this yarn, but I don't think I'd use this for a larger piece again because of the stretchiness. Maybe better for something that needs a little stretch.

5 out of 5 stars

This is my new favorite yarn. I bought it initially to make a baby afghan and have bought it several times since for several more projects. It is SUPER soft. I tossed a test swatch into the wash on a regular cycle to see how it it handles being "abused" and it came out even softer and still looking great.

5 out of 5 stars

This yarn is incredibly soft, it knits up quickly, and I will deffinetly be buying this again. Keep this in stock!!! :)
