I just finished a scarf in the color Celestial for my grand nephew. I used two strands of yarn (the low cost of the yarn makes this a nice alternative). I used a size 15 needle made up in the Cartridge Belt Rib Pattern - 6" wide by 65" long. It is beautiful! No flaking, no pilling, no splitting. The stitch definition is very plesing to the eye. The Cartridge Belt Rib Pattern creats deep valleys, and is easy to do. It is one of my favorites for scarves. Everyone who sees this scarf pattern always exclaims, "Oh! How beautiful!

I was not happy with this yarn. I expected it to be woven tighter, as it has wool in it. It just isn't as nice as I'd expected, I'm wondering if I would feel the same about the Mighty Stitch worsted weight?

This yarn is very soft and has a lovely sheen to it and the colors are wonderfully vivid but it's not #5 bulky weight yarn, it's #4 worsted weight. I'll use it, with size 8 needles, to make a hat.

I had some doubts with Brava Bulky and Mighty Stitch Bulky due to some of the reviews. After knitting two Heirloom Chevron Throws (with baby blanket mods) in both yarns, I want to share my positive review of each of them. (I'm jamiestitch on Ravelry if you want to look in my projects.) The "boy" version is knit in Brava Bulky and the "girl" version in Mighty Stitch Bulky - both with US Size 10 needles. Unlike some reviewers, I think they're both bulky in weight, although US Size 11 needles would definitely result in a looser knit (and I'm a tight knitter). The Brava Bulky is "hearty". This blanket is more structured (I wouldn't say stiff) than the Mighty Stitch Bulky blanket, which is VERY soft and stretchy. A few reviews mentioned shedding with Mighty Stitch. While it did shed, it certainly wasn't significant and would not deter me away from using it again (and I hate shedding - the sole reason I'm not a pet person!) So...great yarns in bulky weight. For baby blankets, I'll go with Mighty Stitch Bulky next time - it's so, so soft! For knits that need more structure, I'll go with Brava Bulky. Hope this helps some others who may be on the fence.

Mine didn't shed very much but the more I handled the gloves I was knitting, the more it pilled. Quite soft. My biggest complaint is that the yarn was spun poorly in a couple of places. Out of the four skeins I had, only one had this issue twice. It could have been just a fluke.

As other reviews have said, this is NOT BULKY. I should have listened to the reviews, but I didn't and now I have to return my order.

It is soft, not really bulky. I did not have issues with it pilling or being fuzzy. I crocheted a scarf so maybe there are bigger issues when it is knitted? Not sure.

This yarn is super soft and knits up beautifully with great stitch definition, especially if you are making cables or a pattern with a lot of texture. I am using it for a baby blanket. I have 2 complaints, though. 1: It's not bulky. I'd say it's aran at best. 2: It does tend to be a little splitty. I noticed this as an issue if you need to tink back to fix something. Otherwise, it's beautiful yarn.

This is NOT BULKY. Should be listed as a 4 not a 5. Sheds terribly. I'll see something in my peripheral vision hanging off my sleeve and think it's a spider. Turns out it's just fuzz. A lot of fuzz.

I picked average not because it is not a wonderful yarn, but because it is definitely NOT BULKY. if you want a bulky yarn try the Brava. Luckily for me it was for an afghan and gauge was not vital and I could try different needles till I found a needle that worked with it and the afghan could just be a different size. If they'd just advertise this as a 4, I'd give it excellent.

Very soft and shiny with a nice bit of spring to it. It takes a bit of extra care when handling it and I also couldn't pull from the center (not a big deal to me). Colors were very true to the online swatches as displayed by my CRT monitor. However I would call this a worsted weight yarn, comparable to a Bernat worsted weight I happen to have around at present. Due to the aforementioned positives, I still plan to use it for a relatively large project, but will have to double it up, which brings it from 'great deal' to 'fair price'.

I used this in the pomegranate color (deep red/Berry) for an afghan. I love the color & slight sheen. However the yarn wasn't of a consistent thickness and was split in some areas, which I had to cut out. It also "shed" more than any yarn I've ever used... I had to dust & vacuum after knitting w this yarn, because the airborne fibers left a red "dust" everywhere. Also the yarn was difficult to pull from the center of the skein, since it tangled easily. I wouldn't purchase this again.

I love working with the worsted so I was thrilled when the bulky and super bulky came out. What a great soft yarn to knit/crochet with. I love the softness & warmth of the merino wool with the ease of care & durability of the acrylic.

Very springy, soft, and a great sheen. Not really shiny, but very nice when the light catches it. I can't wait to get more and make a beautiful, warm blanket for my new niece. I only ordered one ball to try out, and I'm pleasantly surprised. So many lukewarm reviews on the worsted, I was expecting to be disappointed, but I am anything but. My daughter wants a blanket made of the same yarn when I'm done with my niece's.
