I ordered three balls of this in the colorway Surf's up. I can agree with others, the color is poorly represented. It is more green than in the picture. That being said, I actually liked the color better, and it did not split when I used it. It is not super soft but certainly not scratchy. I like this yarn a lot and will definitely purchase again.

I love the surprises that come with using this yarn. It works up nicely and the nature of the yarn makes each skein unique.

I recently ordered a ball of Sandpiper. I am very disappointed with the colours in the yarn. I had expected to see a brown in the knitting but all I have is grey. Also the quality of the yarn does not come up to my expectations as it splits badly. I also bought a hank of Surfs Up so I am hoping that knits up better and that the colours are more shaded.

I ordered a few skeins of different colors for a shawl and was quite disappointed when I received it. It is not very soft and it is very splitty. I would not buy it again.

It has been said in other reviews and I should have heeded the warning. Do not think you will get the yarn colors that are shown in website. What I ordered and what I got are way off. I ordered Ferris wheel colors and not only do the skeins look completely different than the colorway shown in the website but the colors in each skein varies greatly. I'm really disappointed. Not even sure I want to continue with the project I ordered this yarn for.

I ordered 2 skeins of the same color of Chroma twist. The skeins are the same lot number (I have received different lots from this company) but they look nothing alike. Foolishly I caked them and now they look completely different. One skein has many sections of solid color. The other skein is totaly dappled, zero solid sections. I'm so disappointed.

This is beautiful yarn, very soft and rich. However, the picture of "Vermont" is an obvious error. It actually matches the description given, but is not at all like the color way shown. I also got Confetti and Drawing Room, both of which match the pictures fairly well. I needed 3 solids to go with for each, and am glad I waited to see the actual yarn colors before ordering.

I got the Pegasus colorway. It was pretty true to the online picture, and is both beautiful and fun. I got several compliments when I was knitting in public. It knit up beautifully into a fun pair of (not quite matching) socks. It was a little thinner than I expected; I ended up using 2.00mm needles to get the final density I wanted. It is not as soft in the hand as Stroll, but the final product worked up fine. I'm planning on getting another hank or two next time I order yarn.

The yarn is pretty nice, vibrant colors and nice variations in color. I wouldn't recommend it for socks. I knit the first one, turned out very nice with lots of color changes. My second sock ended up in totally one color, no change at all. They don't look anything like a pair. I would consider it for a larger project.

I love this yarn. Yes, where the colors join, sometimes there is a little wad of yarn that is annoying, but the long color charges, the vibrant colors, and the feel is an absolute joy to work with. Initially, I wanted to make mitts with short color changes, but saw that this yarn would not work for that project. Instead, I made a pair of fraternal socks. The shift is so long that they don't match up at all, but that doesn't bother me at all. I will definitely be buying more! I think a fair isle project would be great!

I've always been blown away by Knit Pick's yarn; always soft with bright colors and excellent representation of the product and colorways you're getting. So I was quite disappointed when I received my order. I got the Foxglove fade, a set of 6 skeins in coordinated colors, though I'm glad I got it when it was on sale because I would not be willing to pay full price for what I got. Only one of the colorways I received even remotely resembled what was pictured, and with every single one of them the colors were all muddled together; only 2 of the 6 skeins in the set had any distinct color gradiation, and even then it was not much. I was also disappointed by how thin it was! For a 3-ply yarn, I expected something with a bit more bounce or squish to it, I intended these for socks but I honestly don't think this yarn will hold up to it! Still, it is soft and the colors are lovely, so I may still find a use them, but I am so disappointed... I think my money would have been better spent if I bought a bunch of balls of Chroma and spun them together myself!

I like the yarn and the colors were very vibrant, generally with nice long color changes. However, I found the yarn very splitty, and there were several places (in just one hank) where there were big wads of fiber and strands of very thick fuzzy yarn at the color changes (thicker than worsted weight, in a hank of fingering yarn). I had to cut the yarn and restart it. Not a huge deal, but irritating, and more ends to weave in. This happened with the very first hank I used. Not sure if it will be an issue with the other ones. Also, some color changes were sudden rather than gradual (in one spot, the yarn jumped from a deep purple to a bright yellow-green without any intermediary gradation or shading -- and there was a wad of fiber and thick strand at that spot). Perhaps quality control could be tightened...?

I can repeat what the others have said in regards to color and quality. It's an interesting yarn, a bit shiny really, and with interesting twist.. BUT again, the color is not what is described. I ordered Lake Front and the yarn goes from blue to green but has no yellow at all in it. Still pretty and will make nice socks but not what is described. I also ordered Red Velvet which looked beautiful in the skein but I gifted this so was not able to closely look at the colors.

I love the feel of this yarn. Very soft. I ordered it in the Surf's Up colorway, which is described as "Teal, pine green, slate blue, aquamarine, and very light blue-green, almost cream, make up this watery colorway." I was super disappointed when I received it. I expected some variation in the color, but it's not even close to the description. My skein is all one shade of aquamarine and nothing else. It's pretty, but it looks nothing like what I thought I was ordering.

I love this stuff. It's soft and beautiful, and I love the fabric it makes. There does need to be better quality control on it, though, if not at the manufacturer then in the warehouse, because the skeing within the same color can be wildly different. Also, one tie for a hank is not enough and it gets twisted. But if you get skeins that are the right colors, this stuff is fantastic.

This is nice yarn to work with, but I was disappointed in the amount in each hanks are not always 100 grams. Some times a little more some time 96 grams. Between the colors on some hanks is a wad but since I am making small projects can work around it. I will order more but thought I would share what I found out. Maybe the difference is it is made in China? Thank you for your time.

I ordered this new yarn, the colors are beautiful, the yarn is nice to work with..but the 100 grams varys some times over some time down to 96 grams, where it changes colors some times has a wad of yarn but if working a large project can be discouraging..I am making small projects so can work around it. I will be order more of this yarn here shortly, reason I rated it very good...the yarn is made in China maybe reason for differences in grams?

The colors are beautiful and the yarn is very soft, unfortunately the yarn is splitty and loosely twisted. Very thin compared to my other KP sock yarns.

Quality of yarn as expected, tho this yarn is slightly thinner than other fingering weight yarn. Not a deal breaker. Ordered 2 colors, Ferris Wheel and Surf's Up. Knowing colors will not be exactly the same as what shows on the screen, I found the colors are NOT well represented. The yellow I was expecting in Ferris Wheel is almost non existent. It is more white than yellow. For Surf's up, it is all greens, no blue in it, and the darker greens are more solid in color than having the twisted coloring. The colors are pretty for both colorways, and I like the very long color changes, but will keep in mind just how different they really are. Also, I found shipping to be very slow. I received my yarn 12 days after placing my order and have never had it take that long from anywhere else.

Beautiful yarn but color is nothing like pictured. Confetti colorway on web photo and description appears rainbow-like. In person, I was sure I had received Leaf or Pegasus - strong lime green with faint hints of sand, sky blue and lavender. Not bad but nothing like description.

Very happy with yarn quality. It is as soft as expected, did not split, and has a very nice drape. Not as pleased with color. Am well aware color on computer screen will differ some, but the vibrant yellow I wanted is non existent. It is more white than yellow. First time buying from Knitpicks, and other than the color disappointment , am pleased with quality, price and fast shipping.

Has a very nice hand and knits up well. Doesn't split as easily as the more loosely spun regular Chroma. I think that it might wear better, too. The color changes are very slow and subtle. I could wish for color changes that were faster, wilder, and more random, more like Zauberball Crazy.

So beautiful and soft! I dye and spin my own yarn and I have to say I am pretty impressed with this. Hope it sticks around so I can knit all the colors!

Just got one skein of Chroma Twist in Avalon. I had seen others say that the color does not match the picture and I am aware that it happens. I was not prepared for Avalon to be a definit orchid color instead of the picture which looks like a blue. I had to recheck the website to make sure that I had ordered the right color. I do love all of the yarns from Knit Picks, but you do have to try not to be surprised when it doesn't match up. I do like what I received, but I was counting on a blue.

FYI - this is NOT Chroma yarn. While the colors are very similar, the yarn is different. I like to use Chroma for cowls and scarfs because it is so soft. This yarn reminds me of Jojoland or Painted Desert. I'm not saying this is not a nice yarn. but it is not the Chroma you have used before.
