Capra DK Yarn

$7.99 50g / Ball

Capra, our elegant Merino and cashmere wool yarn, is as pleasurable to knit with as it is to wear. Available in a DK weight, Capra is a perfect weight for garments intended to be worn next to the skin, or special cold weather accessories. If you think this yarn feels soft in the skein, wait until you hand wash your project! After the yarn blooms, you won’t be able to keep your hands off of Capra!

I have had two skeins of Capra in my stash for a while now (in Tiger Lily) and I finally decided on what to do with it. I'm currently working on a pair fingerless mitts. This yarn is so soft! I absolutely LOVE it! It's very easy to work with, my pattern is lacy and the texture shows up just lover-ly. I can't wait to finish these so I can get them ON my hands! They will be a real treat. <3

I love this yarn, made a tunic for my kid and it is really soft, and nice even on bare skin. The only thing why I can't give five star is that the color of the yarn is not even close to the picture. Sagebrush is much darker and more greenish in real life. Other than that I really enjoyed to work with this yarn.

Knitpicks Capra DK is a wonderful yarn! It's the most luxurious I've ever used in a project -- fluffy, soft, but with beautiful stitch definition, and so easy and pleasureable to work with. I just wish they offered more colors in this yarn! (Hint, hint . . . :)

I love the feel and look of this yarn and was very happy with the sweater I made - until I wore it twice. Now the pilling is so bad I'm almost ashamed to wear it again. The knit pattern makes it ver hard to "shave" the pills off. Wouldn't use it again.

Soft...Strong. Beautiful to work with, great definition and no pilling that I have noticed. Really love this yarn. Would love stock better and even more colors....e.g. brighter med greens, reds, orange, nicer yellow....

As much as I want to love this yarn - it's soft, it's easy to knit, it feels great against the bare skin - it has one major weakness: it pills like hell. Not only where I carry my purse, but also where the arms rub against the body when moving around. So the two beautiful sweaters I made from this yarn stay in the closet way too often, because I just don't have the patience (or the time) to de-fuzz them with a fuzz shaver for half an hour before or after I wear it. I will not be ordering it again.

I ordered wine color, and the color is a bit different. It is closer to red brick color. It is warm and soft though.

Using this yarn feels more like sculpting than knitting. I couldn't believe the dense squishy-ness of it. It REALLY works well for textured stitch patterns. Very pleasant to work with and the finished product is very warm!

I purchased this yarn to make a felted pair of slippers. It's wonderful to knit with and felts beautifully. Because it is reasonably price and very soft I will definitely be purchasing again for future projects.

Would love to give this a better rating as the yarn content is lovely, as are the colors. It was also great to knit with. However, after wearing the sweater twice, carrying my shoulder bag, it's all pilled where the straps rubbed the fabric - not pretty :-( Don't carry a shoulder bag, you might say? I'm not sure you'd want to add that sort of stipulation to the care instructions for a hand knit sweater...

I absolutely love this yarn! It is so soft and was easy to work with. I just wish, it would be available in more colors and in a lighter weight.

I am sloowwly gathering capra for a few accessory projects. I made the error of not getting enough Admiral. When I touched the ball in the package, I heard bells ringing, saying "Be sure, Get More!" It is incredibly soft, i have a number of fiber allergies but i can use this right against my skin. I am working on a cowl now, it is lace, I am sort of changing the Fairy Flower Hat Pattern to make it into a cowl. It is enchanting and my 2nd fave yarn after Andean Alpaca. That % of real cashmere sets this yarn apart. YOU MUST try this, It is amazing! I spin fiber when I can and I have never been able to get my hands on any cashmere, Oh this Capra is happiness, from my first touch. MUST GO TOUCH Some now!! Smiles, and thanks to KP for creating this yarn. Please never get rid of this. and btw i need more Admiral. I would LOVE to see a True in a RED VIOLET, with a cooler color edge, not like wine., truer to the color wheel.

Plush and squishy, lovely to knit with. My first sweater for myself and am thrilled that I chose this for the project. One of knit picks best yarns!

The yarn is soft and luxurious, but the colour I've chosen (thicket) is much darker than on the picture. I was expecting some kind of light brown or beige, but it looks more like medium-dark brown.

I love this yarn! It is so soft and great to work with. I will certainly be buying some more of this yarn in the near future!!

Oh my goodness is this yarn beautiful!! I cannot wait to start on my new project with. it is soft and shows great stitch definition

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this yarn! I used it for a wrap/scarf and for Staci Perry's Rodeo Drive Poncho. It is wonderful to knit with and shows beautiful stitch definition but it blooms after being washed and blocked. I can't wait until the new colors come out!

This is my favorite yarn of all! I've worked with both the Capra (DK) and the Capretta (fingering) and just love the warm, super-softness. My only complaint - as another reviewer has mentioned - is that they've discontinued several colors, and it's now available in only a few. Makes it especially difficult if you're making an item with more than one color & need to find two colors that will work well together!

This yarn is fabulous. I made an infant cardigan sweater for my baby in the topaz color. It is super soft, super squishy, and feels very high quality. I'm sad they've discontinued several colors because I would buy more for more baby projects.

When I first ordered the Capra Cashmere yarn, I was uncertain how I would respond to the yarn since I am allergic to certain types of wool. Upon arrival, I instantly fell in love with the yarn at first touch. The merino wool and cashmere did not bother me at all and is extremely soft. Knitting with the yarn was even more pleasurable. After making a pair of fingerless gloves I have had numerous requests from family and friends to knit them a pair. I will definitely be using this yarn again.
