Aloft Super Kid Mohair Yarn

$4.19 - $6.99 25g / ball  Original Price: $6.99

Luxuriously soft, light and airy, Aloft is a dreamy blend of 72% mohair and 28% silk that you will want to knit with again and again. The silk adds a radiant core that shimmers and shines through the soft halo of the mohair, while adding a beautiful drape and texture to any shawl, stole or scarf. Why not try holding Aloft doubled for a denser fabric, making it the perfect choice for a light-weight and surprisingly warm cardigan or wrap. Whether you use this yarn on its own or as an accent, you will find Aloft to be a versatile yarn perfectly suited for any project, big or small.

Aloft is so gorgeous.  I've been having such a hard time putting it down that I am a bit over a third of the way through knitting a big stole that I only started yesterday.  I know that the recipient will love it; the yarn is so soft and it has the most beautiful halo.  I would definitely recommend this yarn!

Absolutely beautiful and very very soft...but almost impossible to work with.

I was so very disappointed that the color blush was so dirty looking.

5 Stars for the yarn! It is so soft and lucious, I couldn't wait to get this yarn and start my shawl! I was so excited digging thru the box looking for a baby pink yarn, but no baby pink yarn to be found! No problem, I thought, it was a little dark in the house, so I turn on some lights, grabbed the shipping list and started checking off yarns, books, etc. Finally there she was, hiding her head in shame, not the beautiful baby pink I was waiting for but an ugly, dirty, dingy shade of pink, I would have hung my head in shame and hid too! Zero stars for the color! Her description says 'very close in shade to baby pink', and her photo is baby pink! Poor thing! Now what do I do with her? I waited too long to send her back, it was during the 'Holidays' and I was much too busy. No one in my family likes her, although I haven't let her hear that!

Ordered the RoyalBlue color. It appears quite bright in the skein, but once you start knitting, the lighter color of the silk base shows, lending depth and variation.. The color is beautiful and the quality just as good as much more expensive yarns.

Cheaper than the big name yarn and just as nice. I purchased "cosmopolitan" and it is a lovey hot pink color. I plan on purchasing some other colours. This yarn is not itchy like some mohair is and the core is colour matched to the halo.

My box just arrived from KP and I couldn't get the Aloft out fast enough - it feels just as great as you might imagine. So soft. Can't wait to work with it. I would rate Excellent except the White is not a pure snow white as described. It's a soft white with just a hint of ivory to it. The paper wrapper is whiter than the yarn.

I create newborn photography props and I absolutely am in love with this yarn!!! Great price and so smooth to work with. Ive paid a lot more for yarns that are not as lush as this and I will stick to this from now on. I love the colours as well!!

The yarn is quite affordable and knits well. I cannot wear mohair (it is too itchy for me), so I use this yarn for doll clothes because I cannot resist fuzziness and the colors. It works very well for this purpose. I don't know how would it behave for people garments, but I did not notice any bleeding with wet blocking. I like how silk shines through the fuzzy halo.

*Love* this yarn. Because it's mohair, it won't be my new, go-to, work-horse yarn, but I think I'm going to be drawn to projects that use this type of yarn. The price is a bargain! KP's price + shipping is about the same price for comparable yarn at my LYS. Somehow, I'm able to convince myself that that equals free shipping on a >$50 order. =)

this is excellent quality yarn and at an affordable price. I have used three vibrant colors and plan on getting some pastels. It is a pleasure to work with.

It is such wonderful yarn. I knitted four scarfs last year using cranberry color for Christmas gifts. I am going to get grey color to knit more scarfs. The yarn is so soft and beautiful. It is a enjoyment for me to knit with this high quality yarns. The price is unbelievable.

This yarn is beautiful! I knitted a hat using the color Pennyroyal held together with Silver in Palette Yarn fingering weight. It is absolutely gorgeous and blocked very nicely. I want more more more!

LOVE this yarn! Easy to work with and versatile for my textile crafting. Airy for feathers and fluff. Perfect for a hint of color when knitted with another yarn. Perfect little ball of sweet fluff!

I just started working on a capelet in black Aloft. I had bought the yarn a few months ago with my Mother's Day gift certificate, and holy cow - why did I wait to start this project? Aloft feels soooooo good between my fingers and it is working up quickly. The pattern called for a single strand of yarn, however, the office I work in is the rough equivalent of a cooler and I want to be warm (museum, things need to be protected - not the staff, mind you), so I've always got something in yarn handy. Unfortunately, I was so enthusiastic about my project that I flared up my carpal tunnel, but as soon as I'm feeling better, back to the needles, because I can't wait to wear this. I'm going to have to go through my patterns and see what else has requested the big name competitor's fuzzy yarn, because Aloft is such a deal for the price and the results just feel so yummy! Will need to buy more!

Oh I just LOVE this yarn! I just finished a beautiful scarf as part of a KAL on Ravelry (SweaterBabe's Mystery Scarf Knit-Along). It worked up so nice and so fast I want to make them for all the girls on my Christmas list LOL I went ahead and gave it a quick soak rather than work with steam since I'm not very good at steaming... it really blocked nicely. I used the royal blue (Celestial), and the color was very fast, no blue water or hands. I had to frog a few rows throughout the project, and while challenging it certainly wasn't impossible as I've found with other seta yarns. And it's SO FLUFFY I'M GONNA DIE!!! Lovely, lovely.

Love this yarn! I bought the color "celestial" and am knitting a cowl holding two strands together on a size 9 needle. It is very rich looking and I am very pleased. Actually back on the site to look at other colors. Also, the color is matched to the capra yarn I also bought to knit a pair of fingerless gloves to match!!!

Wonderful yarn, soft and easy to work with. However, in dark colors the undyed silk core really shows. I'm using green and silver in a brioche shawl, and the pattern gets a little lost.

I did a beautiful cowl using two strands of this yarn. It turned out so wonderful and I am thrilled with the quality for the price.

I agree with Ginny. This is a beautiful yarn with all the color saturation and delicious softness one would find at twice the price and the same yardage. A real winner.

I love this yarn. Works just like the more expensive morhair and silk blends and the colors are so vibrant.
