Garter stitch is quite probably the easiest stitch pattern to come by. It can be difficult, at first, to count the number of rows you’ve completed. Each ridge on the right side of the fabric will indicate 2 rows of knitting. On the right side of the fabric the ridges represent the even rows. For counting reasons, you should mark the right side of the fabric when you begin knitting.
