The main body of the blanket is knit in one piece the pattern features garter ridges to mimic separate squares and is then embellished with small knitted hats (which are only knit as “half hats” and then sewn down) and small x’s over each garter ridge to give the appearance of the blanket being sewn together roughly. The border is a knitted on i-cord.
