I designed this scarf as an introduction to the technique of double knitting - creating a two-layer piece of knitting with a 'pocket' in the center. This pattern features an easy-to-follow approach that requires no purling; creating a reversible scarf that can be worked by a confident beginner, or anyone who would like to give double knitting a try. I used two colorways of a sock-weight yarn to keep the scarf from being too thick, and the contrast of colors makes adelightful discovery, as you never know which colors will pair up. It can be worn by either gender.
